So according to the South Carolina Christian voters, Newt Gingrich represents the deeply held values of the American people. Really?

Far-right voters in South Carolina rail against the government as they use Social Security and Medicare, then demand morality from candidates as they vote for a pudgy adulterer who converted to his third wife’s religion. All this while passing over a guy who tithes 10 percent to his church and has been faithfully married for 43 years. What hypocrites.

God most certainly forgives sinners. But I suspect he asks repeat offenders to move to the back of the line of sinners seeking forgiveness – especially the ones who attempt to publicly exploit receipt of God’s forgiveness as if it were a personal virtue.

During Mitt Romney’s tenure as governor of Massachusetts, that state had the 47th highest unemployment in the nation. Since putting people back to work in this country will be a major issue in the general election, it will be interesting to see if he will try to run on his job-creation record or continue with his negative campaign rhetoric.

Gov. Sam Brownback endorses Rick Perry, who crashes. Secretary of State Kris Kobach endorses Mitt Romney, who goes belly-up in South Carolina. As a Ron Paul guy, I wonder how we can get Kansas House Speaker Mike O’Neal to endorse Gingrich.

Kathleen Sebelius is a pro-abortion Catholic, the ultimate hypocrite. Her boss, by forcing immoral behavior onto Christian health care providers, is an enemy of those who still wish to do God’s will.

I think the people fighting to end abortion are the same people complaining that their tax dollars are used to take care of all the children born into poverty.

Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords should have resigned long before now instead of continuing to draw a paycheck with no chance of returning to Congress.

The Penn State board of trustees is as popular in Pennsylvania as Fred Phelps is in Kansas.

Joe Paterno died on a sour note. I cannot respect a person who let abuse happen to young boys without telling the police. He didn’t because he wanted his high-paying job and Penn State didn’t want to ruin its fine name.

I look every morning to see if my picture is on the obituaries page.
