I was required to show a photo ID the other day to get on an airplane. Can I sue President Obama?

A country without boundaries isn’t a country. We need to stop illegal immigration now.

Anyone who calls President Obama a “racist” doesn’t know the meaning of the word. Such people wouldn’t know a real racist even if the racist sat down at their dinner table wearing Klan robes.

Obama campaigns daily on what he will do if he is re-elected. He is president now. He needs to get out of campaign mode and get to work.

House Speaker Mike O’Neal is either lying or inept when it comes to the e-mails he sent about the Obamas. But those two qualities are applicable to many of his colleagues, especially those who do not hold him accountable for embarrassing our state. Reminds me of our friend Fred Phelps.

We worked on the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Government employees got the day off (with pay). The government is broke. What’s wrong with this story?

Gov. Sam Brownback needs to take a math class. How can anyone making $20,000 a year afford rent, utilities, health insurance and food and have enough left over to pay $156 more in taxes? Can’t be done with a family of four.

The “fair” tax has finally come to Kansas. Sounds like my self-employed tax attorney husband will not have to pay Kansas income taxes on his earnings. The poor saps who work for others will.

People in the income bracket of $25,000 or less pay an average of $3.06 in state income taxes per year. Before all the liberals scream about how Brownback’s tax plan would hurt the poor, I have to ask: What is a fair tax to pay for using government services, schools, highways, social programs, police and fire protection? I think the new proposed plan of 43 cents a day for the above services is what is fair.

Instead of wondering if parents would choose between the moon or feeding their kids (Jan. 18 Letters to the Editor), how many choose cigarettes, booze or Air Jordan shoes over feeding their kids?

It took Hostess declaring bankruptcy to bring me out of my stupor, but now it’s official: I declare war on labor unions. I used to work with you, so don’t tell me you’re not lazy, selfish and greedy. I know better.

I hope all states prohibit cellphone use and texting while driving. Allowing only hands-free will not work. Dialing is the problem. I am 60 and have never had a wreck, and I cannot drive and dial a cell while maintaining a straight line in my lane of traffic. I pass young people all the time who are weaving from side to side and actually think they are in control.

There must truly be a God. It had to take a superior entity of higher intelligence and insight to create a species where the heart is on the left and the appendix is on the right.
