The Republican debates are no fun now that Michele Bachmann is gone. Her never-before-heard versions of American history were hilarious.
I have prayed to God that Rick Santorum will not be the Republican presidential candidate.
Mitt Romney: “I like being able to fire people who provide services to me.” Sounds like a candidate the Republican cons can really get behind.
Last week President Obama asked Congress to raise the national debt ceiling another $1.2 trillion. This brings the national debt in his three years in office to $6.3 trillion. This is approximately $176 million per hour since he took office. It is time that we hope for a change.
Do not give Obama any more power.
Regarding our Marines urinating on Taliban corpses: I do not recall any media outrage regarding our Blackwater security contractors being killed, their bodies burned, and hung from a bridge in Fallujah. Unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth. War is hell.
I don’t like to criticize people in the military. I really don’t. But if you’re going to urinate on dead Taliban, maybe you shouldn’t videotape it.
So some illegal immigrants may be able to stay in the United States (Jan. 17 Eagle). Doesn’t “illegal” mean “illegal,” and you are sent back to Mexico if caught? Why are these people getting a break? It’s not fair to the ones who went through the system legally. Illegals are bankrupting the United States. Does anyone care?
Why does Kris Kobach care if his voter ID law is in effect by the November presidential election? The stranglehold Republicans have on this state means any votes cast for a Democrat will be voided by the Electoral College anyway. I’m comforted by the fact that another Chris – Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey – has to watch his state go Democratic because of the same antiquated law.
Does House Speaker Mike O’Neal even understand the lifetime of sadness the Obama children would experience if they grew up without their father? He needs to stop apologizing to the citizens of Kansas and apologize directly and in person to the family of President Obama. If he is not willing to do that, he should clearly resign.
The state of Kansas needs to hire Karl Childers to cut agendas, budgets, bad e-mails, the length of the legislative session and all the long-winded speeches. Nothing better than a “sling blade” to get things done right.
It amazes me how many people think they are above rules, even something as simple as the express lane at Dillons. I had to wait for a lady who had more than 50 items. When I gave her basket a dirty look, she made the intelligent comment that “It shouldn’t be express.”
Stores have to pay people to round up carts left strewn about their parking lots by lazy, selfish people. They pose a safety hazard, cause property damage and drive customers away. But rest assured, the stores make sure you are paying for your laziness every time you buy their products.
We need a song to promote Wichita.
