I wonder how many people President Obama will have to hire when he starts his government slim-down project?

The Republicans are all about taking personal responsibility unless it comes down to actually having to take personal responsibility.

Rep. Ron Paul enjoys flying first class on the taxpayer’s dime. I guess that would make him a limousine libertarian.

I hope all you government employees enjoy all your cushy paid holidays, while the rest of us are working and paying the taxes for all of your special time off.

If there were just a hint that noncitizens were sneaking in and voting Republican, we would have voter-ID laws in a heartbeat. Democrats definitely believe in photo IDs. Look at their union elections.

In all the positive hype about Southwest Airlines, no one mentions that the poor still can’t afford to fly, yet their taxes are subsidizing air travel for the middle and upper classes. But I understand the city and state claim they get more than $2 back for every tax dollar invested. So I guess this means my property taxes will go down.

Most large corporations are, like Boeing, untrustworthy. Two years ago, the U.S. Supreme Court gave corporations the right to spend their big bucks to elect their favorite candidates. Unfortunately for the rest of us, corporations’ only obligation is to make money for themselves, not to be responsible citizens.

I am shocked by the number of vehicles driving with absolutely no lights on long after they need them. I have nearly hit a few. It’s time for police officers, sheriff’s deputies and state troopers to start watching and ticketing to save lives.

Attention, USD 259 parents: Even if your child isn’t going to one of the schools set for closing, you need to go to the meetings and get involved. The district is changing many of the boundaries. It’s going to be a real shocker when Johnny and Sue suddenly go to South High instead of North, and you live closer to North.

Global warming means that Wichita can be annoyed by loud motorcycles all winter long.

I wonder if the area Realtors have considered having the Spring Parade of Homes in January this year.

Let none of us forget how much the Easter family has given to Wichita and continues to do so, especially to the Wichita Police Department.
