I think it is a bad idea to start making senior citizens buy hunting and fishing licenses. After buying a license for almost 50 years, we have paid our dues. Write your legislator and say to vote “no.”

After eight years of Sam Brownback as governor of Kansas, let’s see whose lives have improved, the rich or the poor.

I’m tired of hearing all the spoiled entitlement babies screaming that their bottle is running dry. Brownback is trying to balance spending and revenue. This is basic economics. Give him a break.

I would suggest that Boeing take down its company flag and replace it with a flag of a dollar bill, because that is the only thing it has allegiance to.

This community seems to begrudge well-paid union workers, so it is good Boeing is leaving. Perhaps a new industry will move in and provide thousands of minimum-wage jobs. Then all will be happy.

After the dealings Alabama had with Boeing on the tanker contract – lies, misinformation and total besmirching of the state, even suggesting that we were not part of the United States – we Alabamans are not surprised that Boeing reneged on its promises to Kansas.

Maybe if we build another arena, Boeing will stay.

After 90 years, the Orpheum Theatre has outlived Boeing in Wichita by five years. Who says supporting the arts isn’t a good investment? The arts stay. Money spent on the arts stays. Millions in tax revenue paid to the state by nonprofit arts organizations far exceed what was doled out in state grants.

When an old person dies, it’s like a library burning down – all those untold stories of adventure, drama, history.

Who else finds it amusing that the Denver Broncos’ Tim Tebow threw for 316 yards (John 3:16) against Pittsburgh?

Hey, Tebowers: What part of Matthew 6:5-6 don’t you understand? Public displays of religion are as offensive to some as public displays of affection. Besides, God doesn’t care if you win a game. If She did, Notre Dame would never lose.

All you need to do to understand America’s decline is take a trip to a Walmart parking and observe all the stranded carts. It’s a microcosm of our laziness, sense of entitlement and collective disregard for personal responsibility.

I would like to thank the people who paid for our dinner at World Buffet at 21st and Ridge. It’s nice to know there are very nice people in Wichita.
