It’s no surprise Boeing is closing the Wichita plant. To Boeing corporate, we’ve always been the bastard child at the picnic – tolerated but not welcome.

It is very apparent that Gov. Sam Brownback, Sen. Pat Roberts and the rest of our great Kansas representatives in Washington and Topeka should have devoted more time to monitoring Boeing’s agenda instead of on the tiresome issues of religion, abortion, gun rights, gambling, voter IDs, privatizing the arts, etc. Wake up, Kansans.

What does Boeing do when hammered by President Obama for building a new plant in union-free South Carolina? It throws him a bone by moving Wichita’s jobs to union-only Washington state. It’s all politics.

Kansas elected Republicans to all federal and state positions and brought the wrath of the Obama administration and George Soros down upon Kansas jobs. The links to Embraer, the Afghan fighter contract winner, and to Soros are too many to be just a coincidence.

Thanks again, Boeing. You cost thousands of employees in pension and retiree medical benefits when you sold to Onex in 2005. Now, with your latest decision, you probably cost us at least 10 percent on our property values.

How about this for an image: a Boeing plane slamming into the bleeding heart of Wichita?

A Boeing official says labor is cheaper in San Antonio than Wichita. Does that mean Boeing will use the endless supply of illegal aliens in Texas?

If Rep. Mike Pompeo were sincere about reducing government spending, he could have substituted his fancy yearly report (at taxpayers’ expense) with one less glitzy and less like a partisan campaign brochure.

Every time I hear a politician such as Rick Santorum say how much he loves Jesus, it scares the bejesus out of me.

The Iowa caucuses may not pick the winner, but they will start to sift out the losers.

While it is true John F. Kennedy promised that his religion would not influence his presidency, his reasons for making the statement are being ignored. He was the first Catholic to seek the office, and there were fairly widespread fears that the pope would dictate policy rather than the Constitution. Kennedy made that statement to assure the electorate that he, not Rome, would be running the country.

Obama doesn’t even respect his own party. Democrats run the Senate, and they kept the Senate session going to prevent recess appointments. Yet Obama made them illegally, with no respect for senators from his own party.

Seeing as how tax dollars pay for your Vision card, it’s every taxpayer’s business how you spend the money. If you don’t like that, get a job.

Wouldn’t it be nice if law enforcement would direct officers to aim their radar guns at high-speed criminals instead of drivers trying to get somewhere?

I had to show my photo ID to get a mammogram in December. My sister-in-law had to show her photo ID for a doctor appointment. I think it is what we are all going to have to do to avoid fraud in many areas, not just voting.
