Boeing has more employees per state in Alabama, Arizona, California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Texas and, of course, Washington than in Kansas. Only 2,100 of 171,000 employees are in the Wichita area. Anyone surprised that we got the dirty end of the stick just hasn’t been paying attention.
Hey, supporters of Rep. Mike Pompeo: Remember when he was hailed by you as a business guru and job creator? How come his business prowess didn’t even merit a conversation with Boeing? I thought he was supposed to wield some power.
While Boeing was packing up and leaving Kansas, Gov. Sam Brownback was in Iowa campaigning for Rick Perry.
Aren’t we lucky that our governor has been busy campaigning for the governor of Texas, who continues to steal jobs from Kansas? The old Kelly Air Force Base is the current site of many former Boeing Wichita jobs. Now it will be the recipient of many more. Gov. Rick Perry brought new jobs to Texas the old-fashioned way: He stole them.
Note to self: Never have Brownback endorse me.
Far too many have revealed that Mitt Romney’s faith was a factor in their voting. I thought we were smarter than that. Freedom is our strength, and world history shows that religious freedom is a requirement, not an option.
Amen, brother (pun intended), to the person who noted that John F. Kennedy made a point of promising his religion would not influence his presidency. I’m looking for a moral candidate, not a religious one. The former has principles; the latter is too often self-righteous and unduly influenced by folks who refuse to see the big picture.
I’ve not heard candidates “trumpet the fact that their decisions will most certainly be influenced by their religious beliefs.” Maybe if they did, we wouldn’t have politicians stealing from some citizens to buy their election from others.
I just finished reading Donald Trump’s new book, “Time to Get Tough.” I have a new respect for this guy. If you love America, you should read this book. If you love President Obama, maybe not.
My co-worker checks the temperatures up to six times a shift, meaning she is going to smoke. Maybe I should start checking the temperatures outside, too. And smokers wonder why everybody complains.
I miss the Kansas 150 trivia already. Thanks for running such a delightful series.
