Before the season, The Eagle asked fans to vote on the 20 greatest Thunder players for 20 seasons. We'll introduce one per week through the regular season.

No. 14: Steve Chelios

The Thunder was Chelios' 13th team in five professional seasons when he was acquired by trade during the team's inaugural season (1992-93). The defenseman had 16 points in 12 games, then played the entire 1993-94 season in Wichita, blossoming with eight goals and 51 assists.

Making his first appearance in a playoff at any level, Chelios had 11 assists in nine games and was part of the team's first Central Hockey League championship before being taken by expansion San Antonio before the 1994-95 season.

What are your memories of Chelios? Where should he have been ranked?
