I saw a friend of mine at the casino. He is a Baptist. He had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth and was drinking a beer and gambling. He has finally seen the light, I think he is saved.
Gas prices jump from $2.99 a gallon to $3.15 per gallon. Can anyone spell “gouge”?
As a Vietnam veteran, I would say that most Vietnam veterans want the U.S. citizens to keep the “surprises,” the gifts and the jobs coming for Afghan and Iraq veterans. This country finally recognizes tough duty.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) should rename itself the Redneck Committee.
Teachers may be a lot of things, but they are not selfless. They are the first ones at the trough looking for free health care and a salary for life. Public-sector pensions and benefits are unsustainable. Teachers and other public-sector workers can no longer expect the taxpayers to support their addiction to everyone else’s money.
I want to see Charles and Liz Koch in a Spangles commercial.
Hello, Tim Tebow. “Saturday Night Live” is what it is. Matthew 6:6 is what it is.
I’m guessing that Christopher Hitchens, like his current companions who shared his worldview, now only wishes he could return to Earth and proclaim, “I was wrong. I beg you to believe in God and accept His salvation in Christ. Don’t make my mistake.” And that’s the truth, offered with great love for the lost.

A well-known poll reports a recent surge in the president’s approval rating. I suppose that’s possible. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
For those who want the Wichita Greyhound Park reopened: Consider that thousands of greyhounds are killed or abused each year when they can no longer race. Dog racing is an inhumane sport for blood money. Give the park their slot machines, without the dogs, and let Kansas outlaw dog racing, as other states have.
Looking at the winners of The Eagle’s Holiday Photo Contest, you would think that there is not a single person in Wichita over the age of 4. Can we have more age diversity next year, people?
