The judges laughed, cooed and got lumps in their throats reviewing the 49 photos entered in our first Holiday Photo Contest.
We asked readers to submit seasonal snapshots old and new – and the stories behind them - that would warm our hearts and tickle our funny bones.
The task wasn’t easy, but we now have a pool of 12 finalists.

How to vote
Voting begins Monday (Dec. 12) and continues through noon Dec. 18 at Kansas.com/hpc. Registered users can cast one vote a day during the voting period.
We’ll publish winning entries in The Eagle on Christmas Day.
The first-place winner will receive a $200 gift card to a local retailer of choice. Second place gets a $150 gift card, third place gets a $100 gift card, and one honorable mention winner will get a $50 gift card.
