Couple cant afford to lose carBy Rick Plumlee
The Wichita Eagle
Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
A year ago, her 49-year-old husband was laid off. Hes still looking for work. She is unable to work because of health problems.
Those circumstances make it difficult to meet monthly bills, including car and phone bills. It also costs $180 for her six-week supply of medication just to help me feel halfway normal, the 51-year-old woman wrote on her application.
Shes particularly hoping Share the Season can help with the car payment, which is nearly two months past due.
The car payment would prevent us from losing the car so my husband can continue to look for work and for me to go to my many doctor appointments, she wrote. The phone is needed so I can make doctor appointments and my husband can continue to have a number where he can be contacted if they decided to hire him.
Any help at all would be appreciated.
