Kansas (1-0): The Jayhawks opened with a 100-54 shellacking of Towson on Friday night. Six KU players scored in double figures, and the Jayhawks will need a similar effort to keep up with the Wildcats. Kansas is not as deep as it has been in years past, but its starting lineup should be competitive with Kentucky. KU will attempt to play through Robinson, an All-America candidate, and count on the veteran Taylor to set the right tone on the perimeter. The game will hinge on KU's bench players — Naadir Tharpe, Conner Teahan, Kevin Young and Justin Wesley — to give quality minutes.

Kentucky (1-0): The Wildcats are the most talented team in college basketball, featuring a talented freshman class of Teague, Davis, Kidd-Gilchrist and forward Kyle Wiltjer and the sophomore duo of Terrence Jones and Lamb. Miller rounds out the regular playing rotation for Kentucky. The last time UK coach John Calipari coached against KU coach Bill Self, the Jayhawks beat Memphis 75-68 in overtime for the 2008 national championship.
