Mom struggling with bills

By Ammarah Usmani

Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.

She has three children, two of whom have birth defects.

“Traveling to St. Louis to see specialists has hurt the money situation because of the cost of gas,” she said.

She and her husband are separated. He helps support the family financially, but his hours recently were cut at work. The family is struggling to pay bills.

“We had a big electric bill and our air conditioning went out,” she said.

Her mother told her about Share the Season.

“I’m so broke. I’ve never been this broke before in my life,” she said. “It would be a blessing to get any help at all. This small donation means that the kids will get Christmas presents this year.”

Send contributions to Share the Season at the Wichita Community Foundation, 301 N. Main, Suite 100, Wichita, KS 67202.
