  • Published Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at 12:09 a.m.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. —Two identical twins in Indiana now have another birthday in common: They delivered babies on the same day at the same hospital.

The Herald-Times reports that 21-year-old Jessica and Jennifer Patterson gave birth Wednesday at Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Jennifer Patterson gave birth first to a girl, Adalynn Rose Patterson, who was born with a collapsed lung but is doing fine.

Eight and half hours later, Jessica Patterson gave birth to a boy, Mason Douglas Patterson, by cesarean section.

Jennifer Patterson calls the same-day births "kind of cool." Both women live in the Lawrence County town of Judah.

Mo. man tracks down car stolen in 1995

SALT LAKE CITY — A Missouri man and his classic car have been reunited 16 years after the vehicle was stolen.

Edward Neeley, of Jefferson City, Mo., picked up his red 1969 Chevy Camaro in Salt Lake City on Tuesday after tracking it down in Utah last month.

Neeley contacted Utah authorities after he saw the Camaro listed for sale online.

The seller, Brent Dockery of Syracuse, bought the car four years ago on eBay and also is a victim, investigators said. He was unaware its vehicle identification number had been switched.

Davis County detectives obtained a search warrant and found the authentic VIN in the door panel.

After an investigation, the Utah Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division returned the car to Neeley, who was determined to be the rightful owner.

Auction of Titanic items nets $100,570

NEW YORK — A collection of more than 100 items of Titanic memorabilia, including a rare letter written on the ship's stationery the day it sailed on its first and last voyage, sold for $100,570 Friday night.

The collection, which had been estimated to sell for $50,000 to $75,000, was one of seven lots of Titanic material sold by Philip Weiss Auctions in Oceanside. It was purchased by a private collector who did not want to be identified. The price includes a 13 percent buyer's premium.

The letter is on stationery that reads "On board R.M.S. Titanic" and is dated April 10, 1912 — five days before an iceberg sent the ship to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. It was written by passenger John Snyder of Minneapolis, who survived with his wife, Nelle, after they were placed in one of the first lifeboats launched from the ship.

Authorities: Woman threatened Ala. gov.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. —Authorities say an Alabama woman threatened the governor's life over the state's tough law cracking down on illegal immigration.

Tiffany R. Morales, 38, is accused of calling Gov. Robert Bentley's office Sept. 29 and saying to a member of his staff: "Tell the governor he has a bullet with his name on it."

Morales, who says her fiance is an illegal immigrant, was arrested Oct. 1 and charged with threatening certain state officers, a felony. She could spend up to five years in jail if convicted.

Her lawyer said at a hearing Friday that Morales has medical problems and a nervous condition and shouldn't be considered a threat.

The judge denied Morales' request to reduce her bond and ordered that she undergo a mental evaluation.

NORAD: Two planes intercepted in D.C. area

WASHINGTON — NORAD says military aircraft intercepted two civilian aircraft in separate incidents in the Washington region.

The North American Aerospace Defense Command says the first aircraft was out of radio communication Saturday morning. The plane was intercepted by two Air Force F-16s, but once it regained communication it was allowed to proceed.

NORAD says the second aircraft was intercepted by an F-16 and a U.S. Coast Guard HH-65 Dolphin helicopter about an hour later after it entered restricted airspace. Once it was escorted out of the restricted airspace, the aircraft was allowed to proceed to its original destination.

NORAD did not have details about the aircrafts' fight plans or exactly where they were intercepted.
