The annual Midtown walking tour of historic homes will have a new twist this year: It will go into historic houses that have been converted to commercial use, and into one of the neighborhood's churches.
Properties on the tour will be J.R. Koontz Flowers, 633 N. Broadway; 20th Century Center, 536 N. Broadway; First Presbyterian Church, 525 N. Broadway; and the law office of Richard Macias, 901 N. Broadway (at Eighth Street).
The tour, sponsored by the Historic Midtown Citizens Association, will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 and 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 9. Costumed docents will provide behind-the-scenes looks at the buildings, and there will be refreshments, vintage cars and bicycles and live music on Sunday.
The tour costs $10 (free for ages 12 and younger), and tickets will be available during the tour at J.R. Koontz Flowers.
