Wichita State University's enrollment for this fall is 15,100, marking the first time the school has surpassed 15,000 since 2002, according to a report released today by the Kansas Board of Regents.
WSU had a 2 percent increase over last fall.
Those students are also taking more classes than they have in more than 30 years. Students are enrolled 161,810 credit hours, a 3.2 percent increase over the fall of 2010 and the most since at least 1980, WSU officials said.
Enrollment was also up at Kansas State University, but it dipped at the University of Kansas.
K-State set a record this fall with 23,863 students, a 1.2 percent increase over a year ago.
KU's enrollment dropped 2.5 percent from last year with 28,718 students.
