WICHITA The Dollar General store on West Pawnee was robbed late Sunday night by two men one of them armed with a large knife, police said.
The men walked into the store at 2427 W. Pawnee at about 10 p.m. on Sunday, Lt. Doug Nolte said. One of them pulled out a 10-inch butcher knife, held it to the clerk and demanded money from the cash registers.
She complied, and they left the area on foot. Both suspects wore gloves, Nolte said, so no fingerprints were left behind.
Those gloves were found later in the 2400 block of South St. Clair, indicating the robbers left the area on foot. The armed suspect is a black man about 5-feet-4 and 140 pounds, the clerk told police. He wore a red Nebraska T-shirt, red pants and a Boston Red Sox baseball cap.
The second suspect is a black man who is about 5-feet-7 and 145 pounds, with a black shirt, black shorts and a red bandanna over his face.
Nolte said anyone with information on the incident, or who saw two men leave the store at about 10 p.m., should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
