The crime

On the morning of Monday, Aug. 8, a man waited outside the Burger King at 2150 W. 21 St., just west of Amidon. A manager left the restaurant and was struck in the face by the suspect. The suspect took the money bag and ran off. The manager chased the suspect and another brief struggle occurred. The suspect was able to get away and flee in a vehicle that was waiting for him.

The manager flagged down a passerby and followed the suspect's vehicle to the area of 13th and Tyler before losing it. Wichita Police later found the vehicle in a nearby neighborhood. While checking the surveillance video of a nearby grocery store, the Burger King manager was able to identify the suspect, who had left the store with a woman in a green four-door sedan.
