  • Published Monday, Sep. 5, 2011, at 12:07 a.m.

Each Monday, The Eagle highlights a government record that is available to the public. Open records help citizens keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives.

For a complete list of You Oughta Know columns, go to www.kansas.com/oughta.

The record: Information on possible redistricting scenarios for Sedgwick County commissioners.

Why you'd want it: To learn about how population changes could affect your commission district.

Where you get the records: From the county's website, www.sedgwickcounty.org. Follow the link on the home page about boundary scenarios. You can view eight different scenarios as well as get information about the current districts. There are five commission districts.

How much it will cost: The information is free.
