Two men have died in the past couple of days of heat-related causes, authorities say.
A 47-year-old Oxford man died over the weekend of apparent heatstroke while riding a bicycle near Oxford in Sumner County.
Another man died Monday in Butler County of apparent heat-related causes, authorities said.
Larry L. Godfrey was found by a Sumner County sheriff's deputy lying on the road near a bicycle shortly after noon on Saturday. He wasn't breathing and had no pulse.
A sheriff's deputy and a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper administered CPR until Wellington EMS arrived.
Godfrey was taken to the Sumner Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The man in Butler County was found in an area northeast of El Dorado Lake, authorities said. The Butler County Sheriff's office expected to provide more details Tuesday.
