Morris Lolar will be back to coach the Wild indoor football team after a 6-3 record as interim coach this season.

The Wild, which was 0-5 under former coach Ken Matous before Lolar took over, made the announcement Tuesday.

"After evaluating Coach Lolar during his nine-week job interview, we feel he is capable of taking the Wild back to the playoffs in 2012 (after missing in 2011)," general manager John Blazek said in a statement.

Lolar, who played at South High and Friends, played six Canadian Football League seasons before coaching locally at three Wichita high schools and at Texas A&M-Commerce. The Wild was his first head coaching job.

Lolar will continue to be an assistant for the Friends football team.
