For Dad: Buffets, barbecue and beer Celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday with beefed-up brunches at local restaurants.

Don’t feel bad, Dad.

The list of restaurants offering Father’s Day specials, brunches and deals might not be very long, but it’s probably just because everyone’s still full from Mother’s Day and Easter.

Several restaurants, though, are putting out beefed-up brunches, extending their hours and — in one case — even offering a Sunday beer tasting. Following are some dining options available on Father’s Day, which is Sunday.

BRUNCH BUFFETS

Caffe Moderne, 300 N. Mead, 316-260-1199: The Old Town Square restaurant will offer a Father’s Day Brunch and Tallgrass Beer tasting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. It will feature a buffet that includes beef tenderloin, plus breakfast items such as pumpkin waffles with pecans. Dads also have the option to sample four 4-ounce glasses of Tallgrass beer. The brunch only is $22 a person, $12.95 for ages 6 to 12 and $3.95 for ages 5 and under. The brunch plus beer is $30 a person.

d’Sozo, 1812 S. Seneca, 316-295-4498: The vegetarian restaurant is serving a brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. that’s $12.99 a person and will feature Belgian waffles, scrambled tofu crumbles, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruits and more.

Felipe's, 2241 N. Woodlawn, 316-652-0027: Dads can get $2 off any signature combo and $2 off the restaurant's signature drink, the flaming Cazuela.

Granite City Food & Brewery, 2244 N. Webb Road, 316-636-5050, and 2661 N. Maize Road, 316-721-8500: The buffet from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. is $16.99 for adults, $7.99 for ages 7-12, free for children 6 and under. Dads also can register for Granite City gift baskets. No reservations accepted.

Hereford House, 1400 Terradyne, Andover, 316-733-7800: The buffet, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is $14.95 for adults, $6.95 for ages 5-11, free for ages 4 and under. Reservations recommended.

Kwan Court, 1443 N. Rock Road, 316-634-1828: The popular Chinese restaurant will fatten up its usual Sunday buffet with prime rib, oysters on the half shell, snow crab legs and more. It’ll be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $19.95 for adults, $8.95 for ages 10 and under and free for children 3 and under. Reservations recommended.

Newport Grill, 1900 N. Rock Road, 316-636-9555: Newport will offer its regular buffet with a few dad-friendly extras from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s $18 for adults, $12 for children 4-12, free for children 3 and under. Reservations recommended.

Piccadilly Grill, 7728 E. Central, 316-681-1100: The restaurant’s Father’s Day buffet will have all its usual offerings, plus a few barbecue additions, including spare ribs and brisket. It’s served from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is $17.99 for adults, $15.99 for seniors ages 55 and older, $7.99 for ages 5 to 12, and free for ages 4 and under.

Sweet Basil, 2424 N. Woodlawn, 316-651-0123: 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Buffet, which will include roast beef, is $12.95 for adults, $6.50 for ages 2-11, free for ages 1 and under. Reservations recommended.

Yia Yia’s Eurobistro, 8115 E. 21st St., 316-634-1000: Yia Yia’s also is doing a barbecue-themed brunch with father-friendly items such as smoked chicken, ribs, brisket and a sausage bar. It’ll be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and costs $24.95 for adults, $10.95 for children ages 6 to 10, free for children 5 and under. Reservations are recommended.

Abuelo’s, 1413 Waterfront Parkway, 316-634-2230: The Mexican restaurant will give dads an Abuelo’s cap, while supplies last. Starting at 4 p.m., the restaurant will offer prime rib as a special.

Bella Vita Bistro, 120 N. West St., 316-941-4500: Special Sunday hours from noon to 7 p.m. The Father’s Day menu will feature dishes such as Jack Daniel’s barbecue ribs, cedar plank salmon and more. Reservations accepted.

Bonefish Grill, 10250 E. 13th St., 316-315-0299. The Waterfront seafood restaurant, which normally opens at 3 p.m. on Sundays, will open at 11 a.m. on Father’s Day.

Wendy’s restaurants will, in honor of Father’s Day, donate 50 cents for every Frosty sold Saturday and Sunday to the Dave Thomas Adoption Foundation.
