The threat of severe weather, including tornadoes, will return to Wichita and south central Kansas on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Wichita.

Early Monday morning the area may see strong storms, but no tornadoes, according to Stephanie Dunten, a weather service meteorologist.

Heavy rain, enough to trigger flooding, is possible Monday afternoon and evening in central and south-central Kansas, she said.

Severe weather is likely Monday in Oklahoma, she said, and some strong storms are possible in southern Kansas along the Oklahoma border. Wichita and south-central Kansas faces the threat of severe weather on Tuesday, including tornadoes, Dunten said.
