The Servant Christian Community Foundation held its fourth annual Servant Awards this week at Trinity Academy.
The awards ceremony celebrates inspirational work done in the community by a variety of groups. The groups also apply for grants. Fifteen ministries were awarded $75,000 in grants.
Grand award winners, which received a $10,000 grant, were Hospitals of Hope, Christian Ministries to Offenders, and Choices Medical Clinic.
First Tier Recipients receiving a $5,000 grant were Fellowship of Christian Athletes for South Central Kansas, Justice For All, World Impact and TUMI.
Second Tier Recipients receiving a $2,500 grant were Bread of Life Distribution Center, GraceMed Health Clinic, Pregnancy Crisis Center of Wichita, the Union Rescue Mission and Wichita Dream Center.
Peggy Elliott Ministries was given the New & Emerging award to a ministry less than two years old. She also won a $5,000 grant.
The Community Choice Award was given to GraceMed Health Clinic.
