The story of what happens to those plastic bags

Paper or plastic? Maybe the most difficult decision I face each day, next to "debit or credit?" OK, my life's not that simple. But still, it's an important question in these days of trying to decrease litter and pollution.

"Bag It," a documentary following one man's journey into what happens to those bags and other "disposable" plastics, aims to help you make a more informed decision. The movie makes its Wichita premier at 7 p.m. April 21 at the Forum Events Center, 147 S. Hillside. Some may know it as the former Hillside Baptist Church.

*BAG IT* follows Jeb Barrier. "I'm not what you would call a tree hugger," Barrier says. But Barrier began asking questions, such as: are plastic bags really necessary, where do they come from and where do they end up?

The screening is sponsored by the Tallgrass Film Association, the Forum Events Center and Second Saturday.  Those attending the movie will receive a free Second Saturday canvas shopping bag - which entitles users to discounts at participating merchants in the Douglas Design District during the monthly promotion.

Bring 10 or more plastic shopping bags for recycling by PRo Kansas and receive a $2 discount on admission.

General admission is $10, $8 for students, teachers, seniors, military with valid ID and those who bring their plastic bags.
