Obama nominates Steve Six for judgeship

Former Kansas Attorney General Steve Six was nominated today by President Obama to a seat on the United States 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver.

Six, a Democrat, was appointed attorney general in 2008 by former Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. He lost in the November election to Republican Derek Schmidt.

Before becoming attorney general, Six served for three years as a district court judge in Douglas County. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law.
