Nitcher's hobby is European cars. Not restoring or racing them, but maintaining them in pristine condition.

"I've always enjoyed cleaning them and making them spotless," he said. "People say, 'Here comes anal Troy with his cars again.' "

That attention to detail and keeping things tidy undoubtedly comes in handy in the financial world. Nitcher became the credit union association's new vice president for shared financial solutions three weeks ago.

Nitcher, 48, is a Topeka native who moved to Wichita in 1981. He and his wife, Louise, have a daughter, Katie.

Nitcher has worked for Koch Industries, FleetCor, LendingTools.com, BeautyFirst Inc. and the Ritchie Corp. Most recently, he's worked as an independent IT consultant. He holds program certifications from Villanova University, Wichita State and other institutions.

At the credit union association, Nitcher said, "I was brought in to head up the item processing between the credit unions of Kansas and the feds."

He'll also focus on marketing new products and services to credit unions "that could actually help improve credit unions' profitability across the state."

The association helps credit unions serve over a half-million consumers. Nitcher said he's enjoying the challenge of his new job.

"I've done item processing for the banking world," he said. "This is the first I've done for the credit union world."
