A poker tournament next month is expected to draw some of the biggest names in the World Series of Poker to Wichita.

The Kids Poker Tournament will benefit the Genesis Foundation for Fitness & Tennis Aces and is scheduled for Nov 6.

Last year's world poker champion, Joseph Cada, who's earned $8.6 million; Dennis Phillips, 2008's fourth-place winner, with $5 million; and Victor Ramdin, who's brought in $2.6 million, are slated to attend.

Proceeds will go toward helping financially disadvantaged and at-risk youth participate in recreational and competitive fitness activities.

The event is sponsored by Brandon Steven with Brandon Steven Motors.

The tournament will be at Brandon Steven Motors, 1633 N. Rock Road. It includes a silent and live auction, music, entertainment and hors d'oeuvres.

Top tournament prizes include a Rolex, trips and fitness equipment.

With the purchase of a buy-in, each player receives $200 starting units in nonnegotiable tournament chips. Those who preregister by Oct. 31 will receive an extra $300 in chips.

Cost for general admission is $50; poker player admission is $200. Registration on Nov. 6 will be from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
