Teenager foils early morning kidnap attempt
BY BILL WILSONThe Wichita Eagle
A 16-year-old girl told Wichita police that she foiled a kidnapping attempt at 1:30 a.m. today in the 2300 block of East Maplewood.
The girl told police a short, heavy-set older man wearing a blue striped shirt grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her toward an older white vehicle, said Wichita Police Sgt. Bill Stevens.
The girl apparently kicked her attacker and ran away, Stevens said. There have been no arrests in the case.
