Wichitan Charles Koch has moved up on Forbes' list of richest Americans.
Charles Koch, chairman and CEO of Koch Industries, is No. 5 on the list with an estimated net worth of $21.5 billion. He's tied with his brother David, an executive vice president at Koch who lives in New York.
The Kochs moved up from No. 9 last year, when Forbes estimated their net worth at $16 billion.
Wichitan Phil Ruffin, who owns Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas, moved up to No. 182 on the list with a net worth of $2 billion, up from $1.85 billion last year.
Two other Kansans were on the list, both from Mission Hills: Min Kao of Garmin at No. 269 with a net worth of $1.5 billion and No. 385 Don Hall of Hallmark and his family at $1 billion.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates topped the list for the 17th consecutive year. His net worth was estimated at $54 billion. Berkshire Hathaway's Warren Buffett was second at $45 billion.
