Three tornadoes have touched down briefly south of Wichita tonight, the National Weather Service reported.

No damage has been reported in connections with the tornadoes, meteorologist Vanessa Pearce said. A tornado touched down seven miles west of Derby at 6:28 p.m., another was reported six miles east of Clearwater at 6:34 p.m., and a third was confirmed a mile east of Mulvane at 6:52 p.m.

Hail stones as large as 4.5 inches in diameter have been reported in the metropolitan area, Pearce said, and hail and high winds have created damage.

KSN reported a hail stone 7 inches in diameter, Pearce said, but no location for the stone has been given.
