Tasks: Not a lot to harvest this week — just a few peppers and some long beans. Everything got a good drink of water, and we pulled a few weeds here and there.
Observations: The swallowtail caterpillars have moved on from the decimated fennel to our parsley. Several of the tomato plants are starting to flower again, bringing up the question of whether we will be pulling them out soon or waiting to see if we get a few more tomatoes before it gets too cold! Most of the seeds we planted last week are up and growing, with the carrots being the last to start growing.
Challenges: Flea beetles are enjoying the leaves of some of our fall radishes. So far there isn't enough damage to merit treating.
Anticipated next week: Watering, thinning seedlings and general garden maintenance.
