WICHITA — The Wichita River Festival has been designated as one of the top 100 events in North America for 2011 by the American Bus Association.

It is the seventh time that Riverfest has been recognized since the group started the list in 1982. The American Bus Association represents approximately 1,000 motorcoach and tour companies in the United States and Canada.

The top 100 events will be included in the organization's September/October issue of "Destinations" magazine.

The River Festival was selected from more than 650 nominations submitted by American Bus Association members. Judges considered the event's broad appeal, its accessibility to motorcoaches and skill at handling large groups, and a variety of other relevant criteria.
