A vigil service for former Robinson Middle School vocal music director Nick Charvat will be Monday.

Mr. Charvat, 30, died unexpectedly Thursday in Salina.

The vigil will be at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 1000 Burr Oak Lane in Salina. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Charvat recently began working at the middle and high schools in Lindsborg for the Smoky Valley School District, directing vocal music programs for sixth through 12th grades.

His wife, Lana, works for the district as a school counselor. She is pregnant with their first child.

Mr. Charvat was a charter member of the Harmonic C's Barbershop Quartet in Salina. He also had performed in the Old School and WU barbershop quartets.

Memorials are suggested to the Nicholas Charvat Educational Fund for his future child or to the Nicholas Charvat Vocal Music Scholarship Fund, both funds in care of Sunflower Bank.
