WICHITA — The BlackTop Nationals, which are expected to bring thousands of cars and car enthusiasts to downtown Wichita, begin today.

Registration of cars, trucks and motorcycles entered in the show will take place all day today. Vendors in Century II's Expo Hall also will begin setting up today.

The event is a four-day tribute to vehicles of all types. Activities include a car and bike show, a collector car auction, driving and riding events, demonstrations and cruises.

Most activities will be in and around downtown Wichita, from roughly the Delano district east to Main and from Waterman north past Douglas. Some events are in Park City.

All the activities are free, except the car auction at Century II.

Also scheduled for today is the Black Denim and Diamonds dinner at the Hyatt Regency.
