The three applicants seeking to build and manage a casino in Sumner County will present their proposals to the Kansas Lottery Commission at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 8.
The presentations will take place at the Kansas Lottery headquarters and claim center, 108 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka. The meeting will be open to the public.
The applicants are Peninsula Gaming Partners, Global Gaming and Harrah's Sumner Investment Co.
The lottery will write contracts with all developers that qualify, and forward those contracts to the seven-member Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board for its consideration.
Applicants must have local endorsements before they can sign contracts with the lottery. Sumner County's board of commissioners has endorsed Global Gaming's proposal for Wellington's turnpike exit, and the Mulvane City Council has endorsed Peninsula's plan for Mulvane's exit.
Harrah's plans to seek an endorsement from Mulvane.
The date for final approval by the Lottery Commission has yet to be determined.
After the Lottery Commission approves the contracts, the review board will have 60 days to forward its choice to the Kansas Racing & Gaming Commission for background checks and final approval.
