Wichita Sports Hall ceremony today

The Wichita Sports Hall of Fame will add 11 individuals, one team and one organization to its ranks during today's induction ceremony.

The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Hillside Christian Church, 8330 E. Douglas. The inductees are:

* Dave Dahl, Wichita State basketball broadcaster and former player.

* Larry Davis, former National Baseball Congress tournament director.

* The Garvey family, founders of the Wichita Swim Club and benefactors of a variety of schools and clubs including the YMCA, Friends, Collegiate and Biddy Basketball.

* Warren Hardy, track announcer at 81 Speedway for 26 years.

* Justin Hromek, member of WSU's 1987 national champion bowling team and winner of the 1994 U.S. Open.

* Don Lock, former Wichita University baseball player who hit 122 home runs in eight season in the major league.

* Morris Lolar, All-City football player at Wichita South, two-time NAIA All-American at Friends and five-year veteran in the Canadian Football League.

* Sara Lungren, two-time Missouri Valley Conference volleyball player of the year for Wichita State.

* Ray Romero, three-sport standout at North, played at Kansas State and became the first Mexican-American to play in the NFL in 1951.

* Joe Stevens, led North to a 1954 basketball championship and scored 1,295 points in three seasons at WSU.

* Herm Wilson, cross country and track coach at WSU for 17 years and coached nine All-Americans.

* Wichita Advantage, 1993 World Team Tennis champion.

* United States Bowling Congress Great Plains Chapter.
