1. Tanya's Wine Tasting: The most famous local chef without a restaurant will greet guests at a wine tasting from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mike's Wine Dive, 4714 E. Douglas. 3. Freddy's Frozen Custard is giving away its frozen goodness at an event celebrating KMUW, Wichita Public Radio 89.1. From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. today, those who bring their KMUW mugs to Lincoln Heights Village at Douglas and Oliver can have them filled with frozen custard and listen to music by Delores and the Pickin'-Fretter. Don't have said mug? Freddy's will loan you one.

La Bamba
La Bamba Cafe is a new restaurant in the lobby of the Petroleum Building at 221 S. Broadway. It's open every day, serving breakfast, American specialties such as meat loaf, chicken strips and sandwiches, and a whole lot of Mexican food, including tortas, fajitas, chimichangas and more. La Bamba Cafe is owned by David Espinosa, who opened Pollo Express at Pawnee and Meridian. For now, it's open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Last chance for Frida's
Frida's Mexican Grill, the Mexican restaurant at 1580 W. 21st St. N., will close at the end of business on Saturday. Owner Mario Quiroz says he hopes to reopen the restaurant in a new and better location. Fans of the restaurants amazing tortas, piratas and tacos have just a short time to squeeze in one more visit.
