Attention, deregulators: Did it ever occur to you that the regulations were needed for some reason?

I am new to Kansas and the Kansas political scene. I have always wondered: What do great white sharks eat when there is nothing left to eat? As demonstrated by the Tiahrt-vs.-Moran and Hartman-vs.-Pompeo races, they eat each other.

It has been written that the front-runners for the House and Senate seats are good Christians. Then answer me this: Why has the Ninth Commandment been tossed aside? If they have junked No. 9 — lying — how many of the others are being ignored?

Richard Crowson hit the nail on the head Sunday with his editorial cartoon. Do you really want Wink Hartman or Mike Pompeo as your congressman, the way they are campaigning? Jean Schodorf is the only one acting like a professional.

I wonder why Crowson didn't do a cartoon on how President Obama's campaign money could have been better spent.

Crowson should run for Congress some day. His dog has more sense than most Republicans.

How intelligent is it to announce you're only voting for women? I think I'll only vote for candidates who wear blue socks.

Abortion will never be made illegal, because conservatives need that platform for every campaign.

Silly me, I thought Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston were getting married to raise their little boy. Now I find out they are hawking a new reality TV show. Is this really what our society has come to?

Will the Wichita mayor and City Council actually analyze the 2011 proposed city budget, or will they merely rubber-stamp it?
