WICHITA — An EMS crew rushed a 4-year-old boy to a Wichita hospital this evening after he stopped breathing from what appears to be an accidental choking.
Fire and EMS crews responded shortly before 5 p.m. to a report of a 4-year-old who was choking at a home in the 2300 block of North Hood, off 21st between Waco and Amidon.
The boy's condition improved after an obstruction was removed, said Wichita police Lt. Jeff Weible.
Based on a preliminary investigation, the choking appears to be accidental, Weible said.
The boy was being treated at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis.
