WICHITA — National Night Out activities begin Friday with a party in Old Town Square and culminate with block parties throughout Wichita on Tuesday.

The party on Friday features the band Big Fat Fun. National Night Out with the NBC Tournament will feature fireworks after the game Saturday.

Family Zoo Day will be Sunday at the Sedgwick County Zoo. Visitors will receive $3 off the general admission price to the zoo that day.

To register to host a neighborhood block party on Tuesday, residents can go to www.wichita.gov and click on the Police Department link or call the crime prevention section at 316-268-4101.

The Police Department spearheads the five-day celebration, which has been held in Wichita for 27 years.
