Money continues to flow into hot political races.

In the past week, Republican congressional candidate Wink Hartman has pumped up his campaign coffers with $235,500 of his own money.

Meanwhile, Mike Pompeo has collected nearly $12,000 in donations since July 15, including a $2,500 gift from the American Bankers Association, one of the most powerful lobbying groups in Washington, D.C., that fought against the recently passed financial regulations bill.

The additional money comes amid a fierce war of advertisements and statements between the Hartman and Pompeo campaigns.

Democrat Raj Goyle drew $13,400 in donations since about a week ago, according to new reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

The commission hasn't posted new donation reports for any other 4th District congressional candidates.

The reports further cement the financial philosophies of the Hartman and Pompeo campaigns.

Hartman has used mostly his own money, saying that he isn't beholden to lobbyists and special interests.

Pompeo has highlighted hundreds of individual contributions as a sign of his grassroots support in Wichita and beyond.

Pompeo's campaign has tried to cast Hartman as trying to buy the election with his own money.

Hartman's campaign has tried to paint Pompeo as a D.C. insider who has donations from across the country.
