Local

Cheney: White bass fair near schooling baitfish trolling crankbaits. Wipers good trolling three-way rigs off points, over flats and in coves. Walleye good trolling points, flats and drop-offs in 5-15 feet of water. Crappie fair using jigs around rocks and brush. Catfish good using cutbait and stinkbait near submerged structure and vegetation.

Council Grove: Catfish good using prepared baits during inflow events. Slow for other species due to high water.

El Dorado: Wipers fair using crankbaits or jigs on the breaks and points. White bass fair along rocky or riprapped shorelines trolling crankbaits or casting jigs or spinners. Catfish fair using worms in the upper ends where there is inflow and in newly flooded vegetation. Walleye fair on the flats using jig-n-crawler or crankbaits.

Kingman SFL: Crappie fair near brush or rip rap. Catfish good near feeders with cut baits and chicken livers. Largemouth bass good around the lily pads with weedless lures. Sunfish fair near brush piles on small nightcrawlers. Northern Pike good around the springs with spinnerbaits at dawn and dusk.

Marion: Catfish good in shallow water with dip baits. Crappie fair on dam and off windy points using minnows. Walleye good with jig and nightcrawler combo on the flats and from banks or off points. White bass good off the dam at night. Wipers good using crankbaits and curly tailed grubs off the dam, rocky points and standing timber in north end.

McPherson SFL: Catfish excellent with stink baits and shrimp near the fish feeders. Crappie fair near structures. Largemouth bass good off rock jetties near vegetation. Bluegill good using nightcrawlers around any structure.

Kansas

Fall River: Catfish good in the spillway using worms, shad sides or stink baits and on setlines in the river. All other species poor since the lake is high and muddy.

Glen Elder: Crappie fair using bayou boogies and small shad raps drifting and trolling in 6-8 feet of water. Wiper/white bass good near Mill Creek, old Hwy 24 roadbed and along the river channel using minnows a foot or two off the bottom. Walleye fair near Mill Creek in 4-8 feet of water. Smallmouth bass good casting crankbaits in 4-8 feet of water along rocky areas and structure. Catfish fair to good in rocky areas on the Cawker causeway, Granite Creek, south bluffs, dam and state park piers using a minnow or leech fished 1-2 feet below a bobber and using shad sides, shad gizzards, stinkbaits and chicken livers in the rivers, around Fisherman's Bridge, the "Honey Hole" and around the stumps in Oak and Carr Creeks.

Kanopolis: Catfish good on chumming areas using worms, liver, shrimp, dip baits and live baits. Walleye/saugeye fair in shallow water or along the break lines on the river channel using jig-n-crawlers. White bass fair to good with white jigs and roadrunners or shad-colored crankbaits in the main lake and windblown points. Wipers fair on windblown points using bucktail jigs.

Kirwin: Wipers/white bass good with jigs and twister tails, bucktail jigs and jigs with minnows at the corners of dam and south side off Bluegill and Crappie points and with rattletraps and spinners in spillway. Crappie good in shallow waters in coves and at fish attractors with jigs and jigs with minnows under bobbers.

Melvern: Catfish excellent with wide variety of baits in flooded vegetation and along riprap. Sauger fair with jig-n-worm on points and flats. Walleye good on flats, in flooded trees and along the shore. White bass fair with jigs along rocky shorelines and off points.

Milford: Catfish excellent fishing flooded fields with worms. Walleye fair along flats 20 feet deep with worms and crankbaits. Black bass good using topwater and spinnerbaits near brush in stained water areas. White bass/wipers good with live baits near humps and near points in creek arms trolling crankbaits.

Norton: Walleye/saugeye fair using night crawlers on the bottom up the west end by the Marsh Dike, mouth of Concrete Cove and the east side of Leota Cove. Wipers fair along the dam, mouths of Leota and Concrete Coves using jig-n-crawler. Crappie good using jigs and jig-n-minnows in the shallows of Galantine, Concrete, Leota and Schoens Coves, the marina slips, public fishing dock and fish attractors. Catfish fair off the public fishing dock using jigs or near the west end of the lake and up in the shallows of coves using shad, shrimp and nightcrawlers. Largemouth/spotted bass fair using crankbaits and spinnerbaits in Leota Cove.

Toronto: Catfish good on setlines in the river or using worms, shad sides or stink baits in the spillway. All other species poor since the lake is high and muddy.

Tuttle Creek: Catfish fair in creeks or at the tubes. Saugeye fair using jigs and crankbaits in the tubes and River Pond.

Webster: Wipers/white bass good with bucktail jigs cast into wind at corners of dam and the Lakeview area, with minnows in Rock Point cove and with jigs off bridge by Bow City and around the fish attractors. Crappie fair in coves and at the fish attractors with jigs or jigs with minnows and off the bridge by Bow City and the old swim beach road using jigs. Walleye good drifting jigs with nightcrawlers in 8-12 feet of water and near culvert below the bait shop with worms on the bottom. Channel catfish fair with worms on bottom near west end.

Wilson: Catfish fair with worms, liver, shrimp, live baits and dip baits in chumming areas. Stripers fair to good on rattletraps, white twister-tailed jigs or smaller shad-colored crankbait near the dam and the spillway boat ramp and using big topwater baits around weedbeds in the back of coves. Walleye fair to good with jig-n-crawlers on the flats and the river channels in the 12-15 foot range. White bass fair with chrome-colored rattletraps on windblown points. Black bass good in backs of coves around vegetation using topwater baits, white twister-tailed jigs, small wacky worms or small spinnerbaits.
