Like a good neighbor, Kelsey Metzinger won't be there. That's right. Metzinger, who owns Bungalow 26 at 611 W. Douglas in Delano , is leaving next-door neighbor Cassie Hardenbrook , which is just what Hardenbrook wants.
Hardenbrook owns Bohemia Healing Spa & Apothecary . She wants to expand, so Metzinger is moving her business two doors down to 613 W. Douglas, where the Yellow Cat used to be.
"She's got a really great business opportunity here," Metzinger says. "I can help her out, and I'm going to."
Bungalow 26 has decor, bath-and-body products and accessories.
Bohemia offers massage and acupuncture.
"It's not really a place where you go if you want to get a fluffy spa treatment," Hardenbrook says. "It's more focused."
That includes deep tissue and sports massage and acupuncture that focuses on treatment for fertility issues and chronic pain and stress.
Hardenbrook plans to expand those areas and offer sunless tanning and natural manicures.
She says everything she offers, which includes candles, body butters and bath salts, features natural products and ingredients.
The expanded Bohemia should be ready in late July.
Metzinger moved to the space she's currently in just last year after opening at another Delano address in 2007.
She's hoping this third spot will not only be the charm but her permanent home.
Half of Metzinger's business is interior design, so she's looking forward to creating a new space.
"I get really stagnate in a space — which is not to say I'm going to move again in a year," she says. "I like the challenge of a new business."
Her friends wonder about her, though.
"It is pretty funny," Metzinger says. "Everybody thinks I'm insane."
White wedding
The new White Dress bridal boutique is going to open Monday at NewMarket Square at 21st and Maize Road.
As Have You Heard? reported in April, Kristi Mouser is opening the shop to sell wedding gowns, bridal accessories, mother-of-the-bride dresses, flower girl dresses, homecoming and prom dresses and special-occasion dresses.
Mouser says she has all the dresses in stock now and will offer a variety of styles and sizes.
