WICHITA — The man who was killed Tuesday night when his motorcycle struck a horse on 21st Street near Colwich Road has been identified as 66-year-old Charles Qualls of Cheney.
Qualls was riding east on 21st when he hit the horse a half-mile west of Colwich Road at about 7:30 p.m., Sedgwick County Sheriff's Capt. George Mason said.
Qualls was pronounced dead at the scene, Mason said. The horse was so seriously injured it was put down, authorities have said.
