Chad Dollar has started work as assistant men's basketball coach at Wichita State. He is scheduled to arrive on campus Tuesday.

Dollar spent the past two seasons as an assistant at Arkansas State. He has know WSU coach Gregg Marshall for many years, and knows the reputation of fan support at WSU.

"Just being in the coaching profession, and being around the game of basketball all my life, I understand the excitement and the love they have for basketball," Dollar said. "Being with (Marshall), plus being at Wichita State, for me it was no-brainer."

Dollar, 37, replaces Earl Grant, who moved to Clemson after three seasons at WSU. Dollar, like Grant, has deep recruiting roots in the South. He is from Atlanta, where he played at Douglass High for his father, Don. Dollar coached one season at LSU before following coach John Brady to Arkansas State. Dollar also coached at Murray State, Georgia Southern, Eastern Kentucky and Western Carolina.

He is married with three children.
