A 5-year-old boy died Monday after falling off an inflatable attraction at a West Wichita business and striking his head, authorities said.

Emergency dispatchers said the call came from Pure Entertainment, 8545 West Irving Street, near Kellogg and Tyler, just after 11 a.m.

The boy was taken to Via Christi Regional Medical Center in serious condition. Hospital officials said he died in mid-afternoon.

The event center's owner told KWCH, The Eagle's news partner, that the boy was there for a birthday party with his parents and grandparents when he fell and hit his head on the concrete floor.
