Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich changed his vote on the health care bill after talking to President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, his wife, his friends and probably his dog. Maybe he should have talked to the constituents who elected him.

Every Kansan should be thanking Kathleen Sebelius today. She prevented Anthem from buying Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas in 2002, and Anthem just announced it would raise insurance rates in California by nearly 40 percent.

In order for President Obama to have been born in Kenya, his mother would have to have actually been in that country. "Birthers": Prove that she was physically in Kenya when he was born, and produce that birth certificate.

I don't know the location of Obama's birthplace, but we would all be better off if he had been born in a galaxy far, far away.

In private life, Karl Peterjohn was the protector of our money. Now that he is a politician, and the chairman of the Sedgwick County Commission, his job is to find money to spend. Our money is never safe around politicians.

Congratulations to the citizens of Kansas for finally passing a smoke-free law. Our Illinois law is the strongest in the nation, and the vast majority support it, including most smokers. I plan to vacation more often in Kansas now that it is also smoke-free.

The smokers in Wichita need to tell the paranoid nonsmokers to chill out and light up.

I'm a 73-year-old retired woman on a fixed income, and I'm in favor of a sales tax across the board in order to get things back on track.

An Opinion Line contributor said that if schools went to a four-day week, somebody would have to stay home with the kids. With the unemployment rate, isn't at least one parent home already?

Congratulations to WSU's basketball team. They exceeded expectations. They took second in the Missouri Valley Conference, second in the MVC Tournament, made it to the NIT, and won more than 20 games. And all of the players wore their pants around their waist, where they are supposed to be.
