The Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper who was injured while assisting a motorist early Saturday was treated and released and finished out his shift.
Trooper Darren L. Griffin of DeSoto was responding to a car accident at 9:30 a.m. at Interstate 635 and Kansas 5 when another vehicle slid and crashed into the first vehicle, which then hit the trooper.
