The owner of Red Bean's at 7447 W. 21st St. (316-721-4100) is trying to "reposition" the restaurant to help people understand that it serves more than just Cajun food. Among the recent changes made by owner Bill Rowe:
1. New name: The restaurant serves both Cajun and Mexican food (dishes that were added to the Red Bean's menu after its former sister restaurant, Red Mesa, closed). To reflect that menu diversity, the restaurant shall henceforth be known as Red Bean's Bayou Grill and Bar: A Texas/Louisiana Border Joint.
2. New dishes: The restaurant is increasing its Texas flavor by offering a few new dishes, including a sirloin steak, pork barbecue, a barbecue sandwich and hot links.
3. New sign: Red Bean's got a snazzy new logo and sign, which was put up a couple of weeks ago.
